I visited for lunch on Saturday 8 August; I had originally booked for the preceding Wednesday, but the Bus didn't turn up, so I could not get there! But it... read more was well worth the wait. When I arrived and gave my name, they immediately remembered that it was I who had had to cancel at the last minute on the Wednesday. I received a very warm welcome. The mixed tempura starter was delicious and generous, and included burdock root, common in Japan but unusual in the UK. They had also taken the trouble to shell and clean the prawns before frying. The frying was skilfully done and the food was not at all oily. I continued with the Taiwanese three cup chicken dish. This was excellent and came with steamed rice and a small vegetable garnish. I had a side order of vegetable spring rolls, which were very fresh, light and tasty. Finally a yummy plum crumble with quality vanilla ice cream. I washed all this down with two pints of a lovely, hoppy ale from Lacons brewery in Norfolk. Well done to Tina and the team and thank you for making me so welcome and for feeding me so well!
